Hello 
I just became a member and am trying to understand my way around this forum. First thing I did was to download and install the Reboot theme, configured for mobile and tablet and I am already very happy 
What a change just like that!
Of course now I would like to change the overlay: is there a page here to check how the different overlays look or do I have to change and then refresh my forum on the mobile? Please tell me there is a place...

There isn't really any specific place to check how the overlays look unfortunately. I guess it's a lot easier to check out how they look locally rather than on a live forum!
What might help though, is installing the 'Theme and Language Selector' plugin. Once activated it will add an overlay drop down to the footer of the forum, allowing you to flick through the overlays to pick the one you want to use. Remember though, that this will be visible for all users and will allow them to change the overlay, so unless you want that you'll want to deactivate it after you're done.
