Post display truncated, width problem

I have slightly modified SP default theme (version 1.2.4) adding a right column for some links and banners to my forum. My problem is forum posts content is sometimes not fully displayed on the right side.

For instance on this post #1:

http://www.arctablet.com/blog/.....-1/#p37949

As you can see, some lines in the post text are truncated" on the right and does not fully show. I am not sure where this can be modified to fix the display so it is properly formatted to the right post width ?

Thank you.

That whole post has been placed within html 'pre' tags. This essentially means that it will display as found with no extra formatting etc.

I would strongly suggest you edit the post and remove the pre tags at the start and end.

And you can stop them being used in the forum admin > options > Content settings which is advised.

Good catch, thanks for the tip Andy. I manually edited the post, removed the opening and closing PRE tag and it's the display is not truncated anymore.

As for the PRE tag filtering in SP options, it was actually not enabled in my forum. To test it, I had still the post with PRE tags included. I did activate the filter in SP admin, changed page and loaded the setting again to verify the setting was saved and it was correct. I reloaded the post giving the issue and the PRE tag were not filtered, still showing. I can mention I purge both my browser and server/WP caches.

Cheers.

Do you by any chance use our Syntax Highlighting plugin?

Syntax Highlighting plugin is installed (v 1.3.4) but it's not enabled.

If it's of any help and you wish to test some live posts on my SP forum, feel free to register there and make some test posts in the Off-topic section.

Cheers.

did you try a new post with pre tags?  might be an issue of when it gets in the db...

Hello Steve,

Thanks for the tip, I can confirm the filtering works on new posts, so the problem I reported in post #3 only applies to existing posts (with PRE tag saved in the db) that don't get filtered on display.

Cheers.

Yes - I am afraid the 'pre' tag filtering is imposed on the save of the post - not subsequent display. That is, perhaps, something we can consider changing and will discuss here.

I asked about Syntax Highlighting because while investigating this I discovered that, if active it forced the 'pre' tag option to be turned off. I have fixed this for a future update of the plugin.
