Hi,

I have made some costumisations to a theme i made by following the tutorial in the codex.

Nouw there is a update for the simpel press theme.

Should i activate a other theme and then update and afther the update activate my costum theme again ?

If you made a custom theme then all should really be OK. You should be able to upgrade with no loss. that really is the point of making a custom theme.
Having said that, of course, it is ALWAYS a good idea to have a backup copy...

Oke but correct me if im wrong. When you make a costum WORDPRESS child theme zo your changes wont get deleted when you update, you should first change back to the mature theme and then update and then change back to the child theme?

Using a home created child theme in WordPress is also safe from updates. But you do not need to switch to another WP theme in order to upgrade WP OR the parent theme.
