We are getting lots of requests to make our forum more friendly on phones and iPads.  Are there any responsive themes yet?  Any plans in the future?

I have been away for a while, mainly due to a huge workload but I am still very interested in this myself.

Well - coincidentally - I have just spent the last two weeks learning up on responsive techniques. part of this has been to get a full understanding of what we need to do to create a mobile friendly theme and to make a start in development of one. This is not going to be quick, quick... there is a lot to do - but it is now most definitely in the pipeline. We need it here as well after all.

Excellent news Andy. I wouldn't expect anything less of you guys. As soon as you have anything to test please let me know.

Sadly it is going to be quite a long development. It;s not as easy as it sounds but it IS a must have..

and while we might be using the term responsive currently, should be careful as it wont be the full ivory tower definition of responsive... but it will have the same effect on mobiles and tablets...

when done...

Great news!  Looking forward to it, even if it will be some time.

Hi all,

this is my first post in this forum as I joined exactly to solve this problem with SP and responsiveness.

I installed Sp in Arthemia theme that's responsive and choosen CSS only  1.1.2 theme.

While in resolution larger than 515 px, all goes well but when enter in 420px (horizontal iPhone) width there is a major issue: the post content goes below the avatar left position.

When it shows lists of forum/posts/threads, there is some overlap of title or description over icons, but nothing so terrible, but when enter inside the thread and show posts, start the problem.

I believe that if should be possible to fix at least this (that post container could be more little than its current minimum width and, consequently align on top) we could wait the end of the year without problems :)

I tried to modify the css but couldn't find the right point to change, at least so far.

To explain better what I mean I attach 3 screenshoots: one correct, taken resizing pc windows until 516 px, below this width the effect is the same of other two screenshoots taken with iphone.

May be to pack in a container div the left part, avatar, date and so on, could lead to a solution?

Or, what else?

I hope to find a quick solution because I need to be online within next week, any idea?

Thanks in advance

Marco

yeah, working on it... ;)   and it is looking good!

nothing coming to quick, but hopefully by end of year...

your first image can be fixed by increasing the % of width given to post content...  see your spTopicView.php template file and adjust the content width %...  but may still struggle on narrow widths....

but if you width is the main problem, give the stacked theme a try... it puts the user info (the light blue left side stuff) above the post content...
