in this single widget you are able to display feeds from two distinct different urls?

Here's what I do - I setup the RSS WP widget to display my own forum RSS then I grab another RSS feed widget and test it on other RSS feeds. The other ones always work as expected, mine performs as above. If I use any RSS plugin (and I tried a few ) they all perform the same. The Simple:Press Recent post widget also only seems to be displaying my own posts and nobody elses. Which is also really odd.

lol...  sorry, when I read your own posts previously, thought you were saying your blog posts, not your personal forum posts...

and do you have private forums?  not in the s2 sense, but in the sp sense?  limited permission to view certain forums... and are you still feeding the feedkey to the rss widget?

we have not come across the sp widget only displaying your posts - not something we have set it up to handle (ie no direct options for)...  which leads to permissions, I guess...

hehe - no worries. Yes i do have private forums in the Simple Press sense with limited access and yes I use the RSS site key. The very strange part is the RSS feed works in the Firefox toolbar just fine. It's only on the site RSS widget it won't function as intended. As for the Simple Press Recent post widget it only seems to display my own forum posts also! No one elses.

As I was saying - are there some specific permissions you know of I should check?

Thank you for the help so far!

Confused. what are you expecting it to look like?  when I look at your forum, the recent posts appear to match exactly the latest topics on the forum...

Keep in mind our recent posts widget is NOT an RSS feed... but a list of the latest topics with a post...  you will only get one post per topic and it will be the latest one...  in all the cases, I looked at, your post was the latest in the topic...

so it appears to be working properly...

we do have an open ticket for a template tag that will just output the latest posts (actually we had it in 4.5 but it didnt come over to 5.0)...  is that what you are looking for?  maybe I can try to move that into 5.1 if so - second or third request for it...

Yes but your forum RSS feed is an RSS feed and for some reason it doesn't work when I hook it up to an RSS feed widget on my site. It *does* work when I make an RSS bookmark in Firefox and lbut that is not what I want. Now before we get into a long debate as to why I would want to even use and RSS widget on my site is there any reason you can think of it wouldn't work? It seems pretty straightforward and I explained that when I hook up your own forum's RSS feed to my site via widget it works as expected. My own forums - not so much.

Hmm I almost think we are at the stage this explanation needs a diagram. haha

Thanks for the help - I know it may seem confusing.

well, part of the confusion is that you dont have an RSS feed of your forum feed on your site in the sidebar...   you have ours, you have your blog posts and you have our recent posts which is not an rss feed...

so I cannot really see the problem...

lol - no discussion - your choice! wink

Oh Papa,

As I said - I have two Widgets, one is *your* RSS feed and the one *right below it* is my RSS feed. Does that clear up the confusion? I actually labeled each feed with a title.
