Support Forum
Steve was suggesting the latest posts widget as an alternative. It is actually better than RSS as it automatically respects current users permissions to forum topics so is tailored every time it is run. You will find it in the standard WP widget list if you activate the SP Template Tags plugin.
But - the downside for you might be that it doesn't include any post content in the display which, I assume you wanted.
By the way - have you looked around for any other third party RSS widgets? That might be worth a look...

Thanks - but actually that works both ways. It is only by sticking with a problem through to a resolution that we discover if there is something wrong in SP that needs correcting. And then we correct it and, hopefully, reduce support questions! Sometimes the most difficult times are when a user reports something - we ask some question - and they never come back! Leaving us in this limbo area of not knowing. And sadly that happens quite a lot.
What the majority of people don't understand is that by the time you install WordPress, a theme and a selection of plugins then your 'WP' site is quite probably totally unique. The permutations are almost limitless. And it can only take one small flaw in someone's code, or one odd setting on the server for all hell to break loose. SP is no different. It will clash with something out there at some point and probably has. Maybe they are the people who don't come back!
Now to your issue. We have had problems raised with the WP RSS widget before - but never your problem which is, quite honestly, the first we have had reported. But I am starting to think that perhaps it is just not that good at handling what it probably never expected - which is an RSS feed running on the same site that is not WP posts or comments. Hence wondering if a third party RSS widget might be worth a try.
But - if the SP widget does what you need then it is a batter solution.
