Hi,
Is there a spelling check plugin / function I can add, when creating a new topic on my forum?

Actually there used to be one built into the tinyMCE editor but WordPress have removed it as the spellcheckers now provided by browsers and operating systems are just so much better. Do you niot havew this facility?

No I don't have this option when creating a new topic.....would be nice tho

I was asking if you did not have this option in the web browser, As I said - Wordpress dropped the spell checker because all browsers now offer spell check by default in text areas.

look for misspelled words to be underlined in red... and you can right click for suggestions... supported by the latest browsers (ie FF, Chrome, IE, Safari, Opera, etc)...
