There is no guarantee - no matter how we have worked to try and avoid it - that your WP theme will not have influence on the forum display/ Non-targeted CSS rules defined at too high a level can still determine display flow.
But are you saying that all this only changed after an update to the SP theme itself?
Yes, just the drop downs changed... everything else is still fine.
although now I can't do anything as per my last new post about the theme file not being found.. aggghh
reinstalled the "stack" theme again and things are back... and I can choose between both.
The drop downs in the "stacked" theme are also doing that funny resizing thing and I've tried various other overlays - the one I did the modifications to (in order to hide the sub-forums) was the sky-red.php, but even if I revert back to any of the other untouched overlays, still same thing with the funny drop downs...

and here it is... subforums hidden...
just need the "last posted" column to update when someone posts a topic within a subforum (there are items in there that were posted last night during testing which as you can see, don't show) and we'll be golden!
I was wondering if this issue has been fixed ?
I am experiencing the same with my forum, latest SP 5, latest default theme.
so what arguments are you calling the last post template tag with? by default the subforums should be included in the last post column...
there is a includeSubs=1 argument you can pass in the argument list to the sp_ForumIndexLastPost() template tag which tells whether or not to include the subforums... the default is 1...
so I doubt you changed it to 0, but need to check.... and latest means RC build 7652 on core and default theme 1.0.7?

My SP5 is the RC (7652), the theme is my customized copy of default 1.05, but I have found the same problem on default 1.07. I haven't changed any core system file.
I am not passing includeSubs argument in sp_ForumIndexLastPost so I assume the default (1) value is taken into account.
I will try passing includeSub=1 to see if there is any change and will let you know.
No this is nothing to do with subforums. Somehow some of your indexing has become scrambled. We see this rarely but when we do it seems often to be down to a server problem during a save or similar.
Can you try this please: Go to the forum admin > Toolbox > Housekeeping. In the 'Rebuild Indexes' box, select this forum (the one in the image above) and click on the Rebuild button. And please let us know the result...

I have just done it, the problem is still there: http://www.arctablet.com/blog/.....ova-10-g2/
The rebuild for the "mother" forum (Arnova 10 G2) said it failed because it contains no topics. I have rebuilt subforums individually as well and got confirmation they were rebuilt.
In case it helps investigations, the subforums (General topics, Firmware...) were created recently by creating subforums and moving all contents of the "mother" forum (Arnova 10 G2) so the topics are better categorized. The mother forum (Arnova 10 G2) has then been locked to ensure noone write topics there and rather use the subforums.
