I was switching themes to try out some of the others you offer, I download the CSS Only theme and the iForum theme and was switching between those and the default theme. I noticed that the setting for: "Skip group view on single forum sites" wasn't working even though it was switched on.
I cleared cache in both browser and site host and it still happened. I then turned it off then back on again, and it still didn't work. So I switched tabs, then did it again and it finally worked.
Two things I think are going on here. 1. Switching the theme did something to this setting. 2. The setting wouldn't save unless I switched out of the "general display tab" and back in and re-saved it. The little pop up showed it was saved but it wasn't evidently.
I don't know if any of the other settings were affected by a theme change but will update if I see anymore.
so to be sure... you only have 1 forum? this setting is to not have a group view if you have just one forum - ie single forum sites...

Can you monitor this perhaps? The upgrade would not have changed the data so I think something else is at play. But I don't really see anything in the code that I can even say - 'ah - that might have happened'...
If it happens again - if possible keep a note of the conditions and circumstances and let us know please...

I have been watching this and the issue seems to be only happening when I use the Chrome browser. I don't think it has anything to do with the theme. I have noticed this several times now when doing other things or just testing the site in different browsers.
Sometimes Chrome will show the group view ( I don't want this), sometimes it will bypass group view and go to a single forum (which is what I want it to do). I am running on Linux Mint, and using Chromium (Linux version of Chrome). The browser seems to not be "saving" the settings or somehow can't "read" the settings once they are set.
Sometime I am working in Firefox and doing the settings as an admin. Then work in Chrome as a test user. That way I can switch between both accounts as I'm working on the site.
To re-test the site, I cleared both browser and site cache at the host and viewed the site and it's still happening. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
So Chrome appears to be the issue. It doesn't like the redirect. It's like it just ignores it sometimes.
Hope this helps narrow things down. I'll keep watching.
OK, I just tried something. I think I figured it out. It looks like it has to do with me being logged into the site. When I am NOT logged-in, then it shows the group view. When I login, and refresh the page it skips group view and goes right to the single forum.
The reason I thought it was the Chrome browser was because I was a guest user on Chrome and also logged into my site on Firefox. I looked at my site on Opera and Midori and it was showing Group view as well. So, Firefox was the only one working correctly. I logged out of Firefox and it went to group view as well. So it's definitely being logged into the site or not which is affecting the setting.
Is this how it is supposed to work? I thought once it's set it would apply to anyone viewing the site, whether they are a guest or a member? When you are trying to surpress the group view and have a single forum, it doesn't make sense to change how the forum looks to different usergroups. You should be able to switch the setting on and have everyone skip the group view.
Please clarify. Thanks.
