Website: http://www.dreadlocks365.com . Created menu button called "Forum". When I click on the button and visit the Forum page, the button turns completely black and the "Forum" verbiage is missing. Is there a setting in simple:press to keep this from happening. Thanks.
There can be problems with menus due to a very old, longstanding and still unresolved bug in WordPress. It also depends on how the menu items is created and often, how the WP theme handles things. So it can get complex.
You have said, however, that your have 'created' a menu button. If by that you mean in the normal WP menu tool you have created a manual link (as opposed to just listing pages as such) then that should be fine. if this IS what you have done ten try going to the forum admin > WP Integration > Page and Permalink and turning off the option to filter wp_list_pages. See if that helps.
If not, come on back and I will have a rethink.

Thank you. Yes I created a custom link called "Forums" (http://www.dreadlocks365.com/forums/). Added it to the Primary Navigation Menu. Unchecked "Filter WP list pages" on Integration Options. Still having the same problem: "Forum" button turns black and the verbiage is missing leaving a solid black square in the top menu bar.
out of curiosity, why a custom link? there will be a standard wp link to the page since its just a normal wp page... shouldnt make any diff, just no need for custom menu...
on forum - options - general display settings, are you completely removing the page title? If so, i would suggest turning that off and see if it fixes... if so, but you get a page title page, we can more easily work you through hiding that with css..
