Support Forum
hi
seems like there are a lot of experienced S:P users here; unfortunately I'm very new to this and really just trying to get a forum up and working before I get into styling it etc.
I'm thinking I've simply missed something though which is making my forum less usable. Maybe best showing you what I mean - http://www.isthismusic.com/for.....tanley-odd
As you can see the user info somehow gets 'above' the post itself rather than being alongside - I'd expect it to be the same as the setup in this forum or indeed most of the other examples of Simple:Press I've seen.
Hoping there's a simple answer (in which case apologies as well as thanks!)

The theme you are using, the default one, does require a bit more width that your Wordpress page is giving it. There is another Simple:Press theme that works better with a narrow WP page called "Stacked" You can download it on the available themes page https://simple-press.com/downl.....ad-themes/ and then in the Forum > Admin > Themes upload it as a zip file and once uploaded you can select it to be used.
If you don't like that theme then you will need to either adjust WordPress to give you more width or create a new custom theme, from the default one and edit it to make the columns different widths so they fit.
to adjust the forum display column widths to handle very narrow widths, look in the spTopicView.php template file.. you will see the post display in a series of columns... adjust the % on the post content, keeping total at or below 100%.. in your case 82 or 83% will work compared to the current 84%...

ah, 2 very helpful replies, thanks (I feel confident now about posting many more questions ).
Have temporarily adjusted to 82% or so and that's fixed it... had seen there was a 'Stacked' theme and guessed that might do the job but couldn't see any examples anywhere. Will install it sometime and have a look.
