Is it possible to display a wordpress post and simple-press thread on the same page? For certain topics I'd like to use a sp forum thread for responses. Is this at all possible?

Yes you can.

If you want to replace the wp comments with linked forum topics, take a look at our Blog Linking plugin... It does just that...

Or you can take a look at our template tags plugin which offers multiple options for embedding forum content on the post page...

I'd like to have one specific sticky thread appear on a wordpress page allowing my users to post updates to the thread and what-not.

So instead of Wordpress comments I can display the Simple-Press reply field? If this is possible my problems are solved.

Not really. A blog post and blog display oage are one thing, A forum is another.

You can link blog posts and forum topics and you can mix in comments with the topic posts so that comments get posted to the forum but you can't show a mix of the two on a single page.

So instead of traditional comments, there's no way to completely remove wp_comments and use the reply features of the Simple-Press forum for comments? I've seen it done with PhpBB

Take a look at this set up, it's an example of what I'd like to achieve using Simple-Press:

you realize those are just normal comments with heavily styling, right?  and there is no link to a forum...
