We currently use 3 forums: WPSymposium, Simple:Press & Vanilla Forums. We are in the process of designing a new website & would like to move all the information from the WPSymposium forum into Simple:Press. Is this possible & how would I go about doing this?
I've already tried using the Simple Press data importer through Wordpress, but a message pops up saying "Unable to Import: Your Simple:Press forum already contains data. This importer requires a new and empty Simple:Press installation.

OfflineUnfortunately merging other forum data with a currently used Simple:Press install is only really do-able manually, which is not an easy task.
And thus the message you refer to is correct, the importer requires a new and empty installation.
If you are feeling brave, have a look at this post to get an idea of what would be involved in merging.
