We recently moved to the WordPress CMS and are using Simple-Press as our forum software. We have an open forum and a closed forum (for members of our non-profit AMTSO organization only).
Every year we have an election for ‘n’ positions on the board to keep fresh blood coming in J Only AMTSO members can vote. All members are in a special AMTSO Member-group (they have access to many more forum content) as well as a dedicated group for their organization. AMTSO Member entities can cast a vote for all n positions, but can only have one vote. If someone else of the same Member organization wants to cast a vote, (s)he should be warned that someone else already of that Member Organization already voted. If (s)he proceeds, the vote of that person will be overridden and the newer vote will be recorded. The person casting the earlier vote must be informed by e-mail that his/her vote has been overridden. We also vote on documents, but that is a simple Yes/No/Abstain choice, so a subset of the earlier described.
With the above, we are looking for a Simple Press PlugIn where we can use a group containing “items” (people/motions/etc) to choose from, and can configure:
- A descriptive text on what the election/vote if for
- The maximum number of items that can be selected.
- Which Member Groups can cast a vote
- Start Date/Time and End Date/Time
And where the selection of items put to select from every time is in a random order to prevent people of taking the easy way out and only vote for the first listed item.
At the End Date/Time, the results will be visible automatically, voting should not be able to anymore.
During the voting, the intermediate results should only be visible to SP Admins to see the progress so we can send out reminders to vote.
