Hi, Could I have a copy of the bbpress to simple press converter please. I have an SMF forum converted to phpbb3 to bbpress at the moment.

Many thanks - wish I'd known I didn't have to do all the conversions ! Tried SMF V2.0 RC2 to Simple Press 4.4.1 (using WP 3.1 on local server with a clean install of SP) worked a treat, 2000+ members and passwords, all posts and forums changed over - only blip was at the start, I got an error "couldn't open users table" -I'd used "smf" for "table prefix", added the underscore, (smf_), romped through the whole thing with no errors.

I'm the owner and and the coordinator of the WordPress Italy site, and we care for official italian translation. We are planning to move the old bbpress forum (to much limited anyway) to another one and we are testing simple:press so would be nice if you can send me a copy of the importer so we can do some test and debug.

We use bbpress in an old version.. we have to update before to use the importer?

I have just sent an email. I am afraid I am not sure of the answer to the bbPress version required. It was written using the current version. But... if the database schema has remained the same then it should be OK. You can but try it!

humm i tried it with the latest version of the import, with a smf2 forum and the users were transferred over, but no posts and no forums, got no errors.

and this was a brand new, empty sp install? we have had success with smf thus far...
