I have a website (http://www.jeuxmoinschers.com) dedicated to video games and my members would love to be able to set their gamercard (x360 and ps3) on their forum profile (and list them if possible).

That's a usual feature on a lot of forums. So i can modify your code to add this feature, but i would lose every changes once there is v4.01 or v4.1 ...

I am not a gamer so please understand I do not know what a 'gamercard' is so feel free to enlighten me. But - if this is textual data then version 4 does allow you to create custom fields in the profile and no - these would not be wiped out with future upgrades.

depends on what you want to do and which site you use for gamercards (how they show you the info)...

you can certainly create a custom profile field as Andy says for listing gamertags.  see components/custom profile fields.

You could also have folks display their gamercard in their signature image field (its really to big for avatar or else where) on one condition.  That is, providing your gamercard source gives you the data/image as an image.  unfortunately, a lot of them use javascript to display the gamertag and that will get filtered out of the field as its only designed to show images.
