Support Forum
We are back to me not lowing once again. It was worth a try but I am not that surprised as some of the WP support questions were quite old. On balance - my own opinion is that the problem does lie at your end of the equation. Mr Papa is away for a few days but I have noted to talk further with him.

Thanks. I appreciate it. I think it's on my end too but no way for me, personally to figure it out. I'm left to pay my web person $100/hour to try and figure this out and I'm already over $500 into it and no solution. As soon as my new site went up in July, the SP Forum updates stopped working - but he says he copied and pasted it exactly from one site to the other and it's not on their end. Obviously he needs to dig deeper but I'm stuck. And now I can't even do a manual update.
But those are errors with your ftp client and unrelated to the plug-in or server????

I have no idea. I'm not sure how to find out without my web guy looking into it. All other plugins are working and updating just fine - it's just this SP one that won't -manually or automatically.
But do other plugins have the same problem if updated manually? I agree with Steve on this one - that all appears to be ftp issues and completely local.

The question was do they update when you manually updater them - via ftp. I am merely saying that you appear to have ftp issues either with your server or your ftp client. You say you can not manually update SP thus you should not be able yo manually use ftp for anything.
