Hi:

Lets try a few basic things first:

0. Verify that you have installed a 6.0 compatible theme?  If you have a custom theme you will need to update it or switch to a 6.0 theme.

1. Can you reset your permalinks – go to our WordPress SETTINGS->PERMALINKS menu option and just click the SAVE button on that page.

2. In your FORUM->TOOLBOX->HOUSEKEEPING screen can you click the buttons for RESET COMBINED SCRIPT cache and FLUSH GENERAL cache?

3. If neither of those work, can you turn on your WordPress debug.log flags and then try the operation again.  If an error is being thrown by WP it’ll show up in the DEBUG.LOG file (usually [but not always] located in the wp-content folder on your WP server).

4.  And also check to see if there are any javascript errors in your browser console.

5. Disable the simple-press plugins, repeat step 2 and and see if the error still occurs.

I’m sorry for the troubles you’re running into. If its possible you should restore the site.  Then, you can make the upgrade attempt again on a staging site where any issues would not affect your live site.

J’ai restauré mon site avec la sauvegarde de ma base de données que j’avais fait, lundi matin avant d’installer 6.0.4 pour la première fois, mais ça remet quand même cette version là, et ça refuse une version antérieure…
Là, je ne sais vraiment plus quoi faire… Je me réjouissais de la mise à jour de Simple:Press mais là je suis vraiment déçue.
De plus, n’étant pas une super experte en informatique, je passe beaucoup de temps à essayer de résoudre ce problème et de ce fait, je laisse mon travail de côté.

I restored my site with the backup of my database that I did Monday morning before installing 6.0.4 for the first time, but it still gives this version, and it refuses an earlier version. ..
There, I really do not know what to do … I was looking forward to the update of Simple: Press but here I am really disappointed.

All of that just means that your restore did not properly restore either the database or the files or both.  You might want to check with your WordPress host or your backup plugin software provider to make sure that you’re using the right process to perform the restore. 

Additionally, after the restore is done, you might want to consider getting someone to help to perform the upgrade on a staging site to make sure its being done precisely according to our instructions and that no step is accidentally being left out.
