The forum itself is working fine and as far as I can see all of the theme and plugins work fine, but for some reason whenever I chose to update the plugins or theme they all fail throwing up the errors:
Even though my Simple:Press is up to date and it appears that there is an update available:
What’s going on? Is it an issue with the files available your side?
No known issues or other reports of such a problem.
I am guessing here – and probably guessing badly! – but it is possible, perhaps, that your server is denying access to ours to get the most up to date version information. At least, I think that scenario would explain what you are seeing.
What I need to do is consult with colleague @mr-papa who is, I am afraid, away for a few days. Let’s see if he has any better ideas.
Meanwhile – just so we have the data and confirmation – please go to the forum admin > plugins – and locate the BuddyPress SP plugin and let us know what version it states there.

We will have to have a discussion here to see if we can come up with a likely scenario other than that I have already suggested,,,
for some reason, all image links are broken for me…
@yellow-swordfish have user try another increase in timeout in case they have a super slow server…
Nor I – you didnt report back.. 🙂 this is not a general problem simple press users are having…
