It would depend on the kind of help you need.  We don't write customized code as part of support services and we're not going to be able to provide technical support for the plugins that are importing data from.  The answer to this question is it really really depends on what your situation is...

My situation is that I don't need any third party software support.  I just want your importer to work.  The forum I am importing from is really old and that is good because the structure is also very simple.

I'm competent to setup the forum, install the plugins, edit the themes.  I've done all that on my dev (live) server.  After purchasing your Silver package last year, I spent several weeks on it based upon the assumption that I could get the importer working because that was the point of my project : to import an old forum.  My mistake for putting the cart before the horse but on other projects I've successfully configured, customized and used the importer for vb, phbb and smf and some others so my assumption didn't seem too far fetched.

What I would need support for here is getting your custom importer to work.  I like a lot of simple-press and the plugins.  However despite the purchase and efforts I could not use Simple-Press because I could not get the importer to work.  I hired a programmer who got as far as I did before saying that only the developer could figure it out.  I asked for community support with the error but never got an answer:

Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function sp_create_member_data() in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/sp-import/engine/spimport.php

So to date for me it has been a total waste of time and money.  I got an email that my subscription expired this month, so I thought I'd revisit and see if it was feasible.  At the time, I was very close since I was getting partial imports but then it would fail and only give me that error.

Hi:

Unfortunately the importer will work on a best guess basis.  It either works or it doesn't.  If it doesn't then it means that there is something on your site that is likely non-standard compared to what the importer is designed to process.  Since you're running into an error it likely means that there is some sort of non-standard data elements that the importer isn't designed to handle.  The only way to resolve it is with a developer doing some down and dirty digging and resolving with custom code.

So, the answer to the question that you asked in the opening post is "no", we will probably not be able to help with this issue for free even as a gold/platinum customer since it will require a fair amount of hands-on troubleshooting and custom work to resolve.  Unfortunately that kind of situation can only be dealt with on a paid hourly basis.

Thanks.
