Hi guys,
I was checking out this forum and others using SP and seen many using the "unread and recently updated topics" feature and I wanted it for mine, as well, as I really like the feature.

Since I didn't see it on my homepage I assumed it wasn't default and started looking up the code I needed to make it work and I found it.

So I went into spGroupView.php and see

sp_RecentPostList('show=10', __sp('Unread and recently updated topics'));

So my question, any idea why it isn't working? Is there a setting somewhere that I haven't found?

Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most...

It does work but by default it is not displayed for forum admins who have so many other ways to determine new posts.
If you want it to show up for admins then add the argument admins=1 - so that it becomes 'show=10&admins=1'

It's odd b/c little things like this I should be able to figure out. But as far as the backend of SP goes I'm still new and afraid to try new things surprised

I get this message when trying to use sp_RecentPostList :

Fatal error: Call to undefined function sp_RecentPostList() in /problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/omlta/public_html/wp-content/themes/omlta/sidebar.php on line 71.

I have the Template Tags & Widgets plugin in installed & activated. Any thoughts?  The widget isn't working either.

Thanks,

Danielle

sorry, what are you trying to do?  that is not a valid template tag in 5.0...

you want either:  sp_RecentPostsTag() or sp_LatestPostsTag()

the former shows the most recent topics with posts...  the latter shows the most recent posts (so may see multiple per topic)...

I'm trying to add a list of recent topics to a non-dynamic sidebar.

I  downloaded and installed the plugin today.  All the files are there, etc.  Even if I add a dynamic sidebar and the Recent Forum Post widget, I get the following error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function sp_forum_api_support() in /problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/omlta/public_html/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins/template-tags/library/sp-RecentPosts-tag.php on line 132

sounds like you are not running SP 5.0.5?  Please upgrade... just visit the wp dashboard - updates...
