Hello Yellow Swordfish,

I am also having trouble with the WP Social Connect log in plugin not working with Simple Press activated.

The Social Connect plugin works by setting up and managing an Open ID log in app at various social media providers ( Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo!, LinkedIn, and others )

Once set up clicking on a Social Connect provider link takes the user to the social media providers log in page.

Once logged in at the social media provider the user is then redirected by the log in app back to my website.

I have used the Social Connect and OneAll log in apps on other sites with excellent results.

The plugin works perfectly when the Simple-Press plugin is deactivated and it works once or twice after Simple-Press activation and then stops working.

The surface symptoms of the problem are this :

With Simple-Press activated :: when a Social Connect link is clicked the user is taken to the social media provider log in page as usual.  The user can log in but the log in app does not redirect to my website.

For some reason the log in app freezes.

--- Relative to Simple Press :

I have removed the inline log in scripts from the sp-head file and I have removed the sp-form-login.php
file from the contents folder.

Mysteries abound.

I hope this helps to resolve this issue.

Hello,

I have found a solution to integrating the Social Connect plugin into Simple-Press.

This method installs the Social Connect links right above the Guest / Member avatar.  The links remain after log in.

---First : install the WP Social Connect plugin and make sure it works with Simple-Press deactivated.

---Second : edit the spHead file to remove the IN-LINE LOGIN FORM - OBJECT DEFINITION and this line of code : sp_LoginForm($loginForm);

---Third : insert this line of code under the <?php at the top of the spHead file :   do_action( 'social_connect_form' );

---Fourth : do not use the Social Connect widget plugin as this seems to stop the plugin from working.

I have the Social Connect plugin set up to log in at Facebook, Twitter, Google, and Yahoo! and I have tested this with two computers with excellent results.

You can test this Social Connect set up at surveyonfairness.com smile
