By that I assume you mean a 404. Just from activating an SP plugin?
Well - we have had a small handful of people for whom the creation of the sp-resources folder under wp-content has ended up with the wrong owner setting. Could you ask your host to check it and the sub-folders under it and if wrong ask them to reset it and make it correct?
That is about the only thing I can think of to begin with.

I've got it on my own server, what permissions should I give the sp-resources or any other folder to sort this issue out please?
Phil
The permissions should be OK but we recommend 755 for folders and 644 for files usually.
It is the ownership of the folders that is the concern.
if you interrogate the permission settings check the 'owner' of, say wp-content. The owner of our folders should be the same.
