as requested a separate topic.
these buttons don't respond - but not all the time, on some pageloads they do, but on refresh they wont function again. really irritating, already turned off some of my members.
@mr-papa
this happens even with all plugins (except for simple-press) deactivated.
is there a permanent fix?
Well I cant take a look at the moment as you have the sire in maintenance mode.
But... it was clearly being cached when @mr-papa looked at the forum page last night as the text was a direct copy/paste from the page source. And what you describe can certainly be caused by page caching.
It is also a mistake to believe that deactivating the cache plugin stops the cached pages from loading. It is not the case. The cached pages will continue to load until their normal timeout.
There was also the question @mr-papa asked about whether you were receiving a notice in the forum admin about the cache. You have not responded to this question. All information can help.
What exclusion string do you have in the cache settings to prevent it from caching the forum page?

kindly check the site again. http://brgyginebra.ph
Personally I wouldn't remove it - it is still useful for static pages after all.
I am unsure of the complete removal process. The last time i looked there was a 'read me' file that came with the plugin that details how it should be completely removed. There are files and folders that need to be removed from wp-content and I believe it adds an entry to your wp-config.php file as well
I would just exclude the forum and any other dynamic data pages you may have.

changed it to wp super cache - easier to configure.
still no effect though...
OK - now the caching issue is out of the way I can see the errors in the console.
Out of interest - I can also see that the forum has topics and posts - so what has changed to make it stop working? Newly added WordPress plugins? Updates to WP plugins? New WP Theme? Something must have changed...
On the front page I am seeing 4 errors listed. The first is making a call to get something from 'tag.contextweb.com'. This failing as the client is blocking it. I have no idea what it is or why it is beign blocked.
The next is in the tooltips script library. We will come back to that in a minute. The third is from BuddyPress to do with the cookies library and the last is caused by the first two closing down further jQuery scripts.
So lets deal with the tooltips. You have probably started using something new that is either loading its own tooltips library or initialising the Wp loaded one which is conflicting with the SP initialisation. Go to the forum admin > themes > theme editor and load the spFunctions.php file. At the top you can turn the SP tooltips off - change the word true to false - save it - and try the forum again.
