Hi Mr. Papa,

OK, found the plugin causing this issue:

Ultimate Security Checker by Eugene Pyvovarov - which is stated to be compatible only up to WP 3.4.2.

So this plugin is now deactivated and Simple:Press is working just as it should be.

odd, what did it think it was protecting???  any options for white listing?
