OK - more... A quick look at your site states that it is using a theme called 'reboot-4'... Where did that come from? Did you put the '-4' on the end?

 I re-activated the reboot and all is working ok like it did yesterday (after I changed the spFunctions.php file) with no error messages.

Well that looks like the root of the problem but I have no idea where the -4 comes from.  As downloaded from our server the folder reboot is in should just be named that - 'reboot'. If you can correct that you should be able to go back to the update-proof safely of the child theme.

you are correct sir, the child was named child-1 also. I have NO idea how that happened...

I deleted them and reinstalled, then I activated the child and did the file edit on the child and all is working. Thanks so much!
