Great, and I don't need to rename the Stylesheet css file, right?

Creating Child themes
Now it's all done and everything seems to be working perfectly. I finally have a child theme. Hopefully it will stay this way through all future updates.
Thanks for walking me through it. 🙂
Glad to help and get you sorted out. I didn't realise you had not done this a long time back

Had I realized how incredibly easy it was, I definitely would have.
no worries! sometimes it just takes getting started...

Just:
- Rename the folder from ;'tacked-child;' to whatever you prefer
- Open the spTheme.txt file in the newly renamed child folder and set the title (1st entry) to the name you have chosen. Remember this is case sensitive.
- Go to the forum admin > themes > and select the newly created child theme
and then you should be fine.
I can get the child themes to work but the coding is no longer working for me. I need help with what php file should be added and where. Or perhaps the changes can be made on the Simple Press backend?
Hi:
This has been fixed and will be available in the next version of Simple:Press. You can find the fix here if you're interested: https://github.com/Simple-Pres.....e0c73d81f6
Thanks.
Yes I noticed. I would probably have been able to fix the theme if it was done earlier without paying for the horizontal option. 🙂
It makes way more sense now when I go to the editor.
Actually, you don't need that to edit those files. All the files are available via FTP - that function is just a convenience thing. The files are fully open-sourced so editing them via FTP and your favorite editor is actually faster and better since your editor will likely color-code things for you.
