Hi

My Forum (www.flat-chat.com.au/forum) has started playing up.  I can still post to the website and read and approve new posts to the Forum but if I reply to a post or try to start a new topic, I get a "403 - Forbidden" error page.

The address at the top of the page also changes to

http://www.flat-chat.com.au/in.....b46d1bfbbf

which seems a bit weird (although it may be quite normal, for all I know).

To make life slightly more difficult, I am temporarily in Mexico (rather than Australia) so contacting my server is a bit more difficult.

Any idea what this may be?

Thanks

My server has failed to replicate the problem (i.e. they got it to work no problem, using my login) so it must be something local, probably in my laptop or browser.  I will keep you posted.

Different browser gets same result although test posts sent earlier turned up an hour later.

Might leave this till morning.

OK - we will be here. But a 403 is your server denying access to something. If it persists need to find put just what! It should make an entry in your server logs with more information.

Thanks

I have passed this on to my server help desk.  Maybe they can help.

Meanwhile, here are some "blue" notices in the error log that coincide roughly with attempts to post replies:

Does any of this indicate an issue that I can resolve?

As far as I'm aware, notices are harmless and won't affect functionality. They are most likely nothing to do with the issue, but I'm sure Andy or Steve will chime in if there is anything untoward in there.

Point taken

This was the only actual Warning notice, from early this morning, but I don't think it has anything to do with this issue:

06/03/2016 4:40 am | spaErrWarning | 8 | php

file: /simple-press/admin/library/spa-support.php
line: 208
function: opendir

The only thing I notice that is strange about that directory is the name 'simple-forum'.

In fact, looking more into it is that path set as the default path in storage locations?

Check in Forum > Integration > Storage Locations

Simple-Forum goes back to version 4, and no trace of that directory structure should exist I don't think.

Thanks: I did that and found a file location error.

This is what I have:

Custom Icons Folder

wp-content/plugins/simple-forum/styles/icons/default/custom

This is marked as an error.  What should it be?
