in the wp admin, on the far left side, is the admin menu...  posts, pages, plugins, etc... one is forum... I was asking you to navigate to the forum admin from there...  not just loading the storage location panel again from the forum accordion menus...

Tried that, it didn't work.  My Host is able to reply to posts using my login and it works. My posts are eventually turning up hours later but I seem to have lost a lot of my Admin privileges.

I'm using both WP Security and Sucuri as a belt and braces approach.  I am loath to turn them off when I'm under attack but that may be where the conflict is arising.

T have passed on your comments to my host help desk.

posts show up hours later???  sounds like a caching issue...  are  you using any caching? if so, you need to disable it on the wp page your have the forum showing as its a dynamic page, not static...

How about caching as Steve asked?

well, there is no way or capability for simple press to delay posting of new posts...  its either there or its not (assuming you are not putting posts in moderation and requiring admins/mods to approve but even then once manually approved, they would appear immediately)...  still sounds like caching or perhaps CDN...

do you have a link to site so we can check and see if anything obvious?

All posts and replies are moderated by me and my editors.  It now makes sense that they could be seeing my posts when I am offline and OK-ing them (because they're from me).

If that's the case, and I'm pretty sure it is, then it seems to be part of the suite of privileges that the Forum has removed from me but that WP hasn't.  E.g. I can post to the website but not to the Forum.  And I can't send PMs either.

The website is http://www.flat-chat.com.au.  I can send you the password (discreetly) if you wish.

wp admins and sp admins are two different things... wp admins are not sp admins unless set up to be...  not sure what you mean by forum has removed you from...  the app only does what you tell it to do or have set up...

on forum - admins - manage admins you can set up more users to be sp admins... you might try this for your account... of course, you need to be an admin to do so...  if there are no sp admins, then all wp admins become sp admins...  at install time, the only sp admin is the wp admin that installed the plugin... that sp admin can then add new sp admins...

according to your site, Jimmy T is an admin.. so try going to that page and making sure  you have all the capabilities...

Well I didn't set it up to stop me from posting. It just happened.

Yes, I already tried that but SP didn't allow me to.

In an ideal world, yes ... but things go wrong out here in the real world and sometimes Simple Press does develop glitches. Being told I must have done some thing wrong doesn't help. Tell me what I did wrong and I will rap myself over the knuckles just as soon as I have fixed it.
