I dont see a link to site... any caching plugins?
have you customized any permissions? if not, might be worth going to forum - permissions - reset permissions and resetting them...

I do not have any caching plugins. I really miss being able to quote users. Haven't customized any permissions, but I can try resetting them just in case in the meantime.
Here is the site:

Thanks.
(edit) Reset the permissions, re-did them, etc and still don't have a quote button. I only have them on the threads I started, but not other users' threads.
are you talking wp admins or sp admins? they are two different things... wp admins are not sp admins by default - only the wp admin that installed sp is... more can be added on forum - admins - manage admins...
I also see you are running your own theme... did you change any of the button template tags from spTopicView.php?
also, are you sure its the blockquote button missing? and not the permission to reply to topics generally for this user? as the other user (or yourself), you can view your permissions in the your sp profile... a screenshot might be helpful...

If you look in a couple of my previous posts, I included a screen shot of how it looks. Unless you want a screenshot of my permissions, in which case, all are marked green except the 2 that shouldn't be.
There are only two of us as admins and both of us are wp admins AND sp admins. I created it and made sure my partner also was an admin for both.
I coped the default theme so any changes I made would not be overwritten. I never changed any button templates. The only ones that were changed were the custom icons for the main forum view page.
I am positive the quote button is missing. The screenshot of what is missing is in my post on the previous page. Here is a screenshot of my permissions on a forum in which I have this issue if it helps.
Thank you.
As you have probably guessed we are really struggling with this one! It has never been reported before so it is totally unique and - to be perfectly frank p we can see no logical reason for it unless it is rooted in permissions which, for a forum admin - it should not be.
For the record - I have looked at the code for this and these are the exact conditions under which a user will not be offered a quote button on any single post. I don't really expect these to be relevant but where a permission is part of the test I would like your user to check their own permissions (theirs not yours of course) against the actual forum where they witness the lack of the button.
So - for the record - these are the conditions no quote button is shown on a post:
- if a post has been loaded for editing
- if a post is awaiting moderation and youy are not an admin
- If you do not have permission to reply to posts
- If either the forum or the topic is locked and you are not an admin
- If the post was made by an admin and you do not have permission to view admin posts
- if you can only view own and admin posts but are not an admin or the original post author
So - anything there?

Thanks for the reply.
Yeah, doesn't sound like it would be a normal issue.
Here are some screen shots. Here's one of a regular user that doesn't have the quote button as well:

And the one below is his permissions. Hopefully this helps. Maybe we can figure out if I have the proper code for this?
just to verify, are those permissions you show in the image for the same forum as the link you gave? double checking because each forum gets potentially a different set of permissions... and the actual forum is not shown in the image..

sorry, just being sure because you have to take an overt action to have each forum have the same permission... that is, assigning a usergroup and permission set to the forum... it doesnt just happen...
guess the next step would be for you to send us a temp wp/sp admin account to look around... if that works, please pm the account details - needs wp admin and sp admin capabilities - to yellow swordfish and mr papa... please include a link to this topic so we know what its about...
