Yes the theme is current, however it has been heavily modified and it appears I can’t change back to the default theme to test.

I changed the WordPress theme page template the page is using and voila - it came back to life. However - turning it back to the 'default template' still shows the forum but in a small column. So i think you need to choose which template you are going to use.

Sorry, do you mean you changed the wordpress theme or just the simple-press forum theme?
I tried swapping the wordpress theme back to default and ended up with the white screen of death I now have my site back up and running but it is missing information and widgets and pages aren't linking, the whole things is screwed now!

No... As I said 'WordPress Theme Page Template'. Every WP page you write and save has an option as to which template you will use for it's display. The forum page was set to 'default template'. I changed this and then changed it back. I figure it had got lost in the WP postmeta table.

Ok great thanks, I will try that again, once I get all my widgets back in! And get the site up and running.
It appears we have an issue with the theme not being able to roll back to default.

That's something that I thought WP had fixed up although perhaps it needs specific theme support....

The site is running and everything is in place.
The forum is not showing again so can you fully describe steps you did to get the forum back as it not showing again.

edit the wp page the forum is on... change the page template in use... save... then change it back and save again...
