my new member says this:
"I must be missing something. Reading the forums drive me crazy! I read answers from you and have no idea what you are answering, it seems the forums are arranged backwords…am I missing something.
I'm just looking for phone script for cold calling..(yes I put it in the search box) I find stuff on follow up..(follow up to what?) I don't want that..can you help?"
HI Ike -- I gave you too much info... he is saying the forum posts are posting comments in an illogical way. That the logic of the posts is "backward." I have had other say the same thing and I think it's hurting my business. Is there a way that I can manipulate how the forum posts flow? This has become so serious a problem for me that I am starting to look for other forum software, which I REALLY don't want to do!!! Your help is most appreciated.
Chris
you can control whether they are sorted newest first or oldest first on forum - options - general display settings...

I don't really understand what you mean by 'run backwards' either to be honest.
By default, as installed, the forum displays a topic thread in the order in which posts are made. This is, in our experience, the most common behaviour for a forum topic. So - the first post in the first page is the initial topic starter post. The last post on the last page the most recent reply.
As the forum admin you can change this default behaviour in the Options > General Display Settings admin panel.
Additionally you can change a single forum or topic independently by using the forum tools.
Finally, a user can change them just for their wn view of your forums within their Simple:Press propfile record.
So that seems to cover just about all options. So what is it you get and see that we don't?

this could be the answer to my misery...
"Finally, a user can change them just for their wn view of your forums within their Simple:Press propfile record."
I have looked in the profile. I don't see anything that says forum. And what is "wn"?
If I could get a specific location of where they can change the flow of forum posts, this would be the answer and I could take a picture and give them direction. This would eliminate my problems with the forum completely.
typo.... wn = own... that is, their own profile... so profile - options - display options...
