how odd. turns out that theme is missing the template tag to display the forum tools on forum view pages. strange it never came up during the pre-release...
will get it fixed up...
I'm having a problem viewing the admin forum tools after upgrade using the default theme.
Doesn't show up on hover, and no icon on the actual topic so I can no longer delete. I checked and Admin>Global Admin Options>Display edit forum tools is activated.
Also, I can't change the Akismet setting in Global Admin Options. It says it saved, but always puts it back to Do not use Akismet. However the other options on that screen save if I change them.
I tried in both Firefox and Chrome, and disabled W3 Total Cache but that didn't seem to help.
Other than the missing edit tool and akismet issue, I LOVE this 5.0 version. Especially the merge forum feature, been wanting to do that for awhile and it made it so easy.
Thank you!
wow. think we need to remove that option since its template tag controlled now... but obviously not a player here...
do you have a link to your site so we can look? may need to come back later for temp account that can actually use the forum tools...

I tracked down problem with missing forum tool icon. It was the jshortcodes plugin deregistering jquery and calling jquery via googleapis. I commented it out in the plugin and it's working now.
Unfortunately that did not fix problem with Akismet settings not saving properly. Whenever I refresh it always goes back to Do Not Use Akismet. The other options on that admin page do update properly.
I assume you have akismet running already on your site? ie, that is you have already entered in an api key for the wp akismet plugin?
good news on the jquery.... sure wish theme/plugin authors would quit doing that!!!
