Hi there,
i have noticed that normal users can see posts from other users that are waiting for moderation. It seems kinda useless but maybe I just don't get the point why those posts show up (and only contain the text "awaiting moderation".)
Can I change that those posts are just hidden to all users but moderators and admins?
And something else we have never been asked for before!
I think many people - and certainly we do here - prefer, when they are following a topic, to know that there IS a post from somebody and it just awaits approval to be seen. And, of course, as long as they can not see the content - it is harmless.
There is no quick and simple answer to this. But you could write a filter against the topic query to not include all posts in moderation. That would work up to a point and you could exclude that happening for admins and moderators.
There may be a few anomalies though. The post index number will miss one of course, If it is the first post in a new topic (not uncommon) the topic might be loadable but there will be nothing shown. Not sure about that without trying it! And if someone copies and uses a post permalink it may be completely wrong after the post is moderated if the post in question is on a page boundary. Maybe others. I would need to try.

the other issue would be when the post is finally approved, it may get inserted before other posts that were already approved or did not need moderation... the ordering is set when the post is made...
