I did the reset auths cache and it still seems like the "open mics" forum does not exist...

How do I check the individual permissions within each set?  Sorry.  I'll go in and see if I can figure it out.  If you want my login, let me know.  Afterall, we both live right off the 118, so that sort of makes us 118 brothers and all.  surprised

You can check the permissions by looking in Forum > Permissions > Manage Permission Sets, although to start are the permissions the same for 'Open Mics' as they are for all your other forums?

An easy way to check is to have a look through your profile within the forum. Go to your profile and check out the 'Permissions' tab. Click 'View' on 'Open Mics' and see what you can and can't do.

Hi...  I looked at the permissions in the forum and they are the same for open mics as the other forum that I can post in.  Everything has a green check except "Can view only own posts and admin/mod posts" and "Can only reply to own topics" on both forums.

Regarding the users issue, Looks like the last couple registered were added "Newest users" area and the number of users went up, and I'm still using the registration redux plugin... So it seems that it just didn't grab anyone from since the SP plugin was last activated.  Is that possible?  Is there a way to flush the users and let it grab them again or something?  It seems to have about 1100 of the almost 1700 users in the numbers at the bottom.

Thanks

Lets talk about the new members and members count first while I try and think what your access issue might be about,

Keeping track of the most recent new members and the count of members that have been added to use the forum is a function of SP. So - quite simply - when you deactivated it, it stopped collecting that data and yes - it is stuck back where it was at that time.

You could remove the latest members list by removing the 'option_value' of the 'sfoptions' table row with the 'option_name' of 'spRecentMembers' directly in the database. Or - as new members join then old names will fall of the back of the list and things will rectify themselves.

The members count is much more tricky. WordPress is responsible for creating and maintaining user data but SP does have a table (sfmembers) and does create a row for each member. Clearly while SP was not active, this data was not being created hence the lower count. The problem is that there is no built in method for these user records to be created - except for when someone visits a forum page. If SP finds it missing then it will create it on the fly and up the count. The only other way that could be done would be to write up some special code you could use as a one off process.

I will need to think about what questions to ask regarding the access issue. You appear to have done the right things but at the end of the day it will come down to permission settings and options etc. Just have to work out where to look next. @mr-papa may have some new ideas on that later on when he comes along.

Okay...  Would uninstalling it and reinstalling it fix everything?  Will that be time consuming?  I only have 3 forums and zero posts.  Just want to keep that red theme which seems like it's built in anyway.  Let me know what you suggest!  Thanks...

Actually, I guess I already have uninstalled it and reinstalled it.  Hahah.. Hmmmm

Ah - I missed that you had no posts at all.

Then I would probably say yes. You will not need to do much - just create the forums again basically.

To uninstall go to the forum admin > toolbox > Uninstall, - check the box and follow the instructions. You can then run the installer again from the forum admin menu.

This is probably going to be a dumb question...  But will there be a forum admin menu to run the installer from if I'm uninstalling it first?  Won't I have to FTP SP again?  Thanks!

Check uninstall and then follow the instructions. Deactivating the plugin then removes all data. Reactivate the plugin and the option to install is on the menu

I reinstalled everything.  When I installed it it seemed to grab all the users (It counted up to 1800.)  But now the stats below the forum don't say anything about user counts.  You can see at http://www.socalstandup.com/  All the stats are blank.  Any idea why that happened?  Seemed to import them during install.  Thanks!
