Hi everyone, i've been using simple press for some years now without updating it.

After upgrading to WP 4.9, the SP 4.3.4 didn't worked correctly so it was high time for me to upgrade the simple press plugin to...

I upgraded it correctly up to v5.0.

Now if i try to perform the database update (through the automatic update in the admin area) to get it the lates one, i get the following error :

"Upgrade Aborted
7960
%%%marker%%%{"status":"success","type":"upgrade","section":8033,"response":"Build upgrade section 8033 executing. Status: success
","error":""}%%%marker%%%
success"

Does anyone can help on this one?

As I see "success" i don't think there is anything bad happening, but the plugin has been deactivated by the upgrade.

Thanks a lot 😉

The message is misleading but the best we can do.

I feel 99% sure that your problem is a JavaScript conflict - probably with another plugin. This is causing the script that runs the SP update to fail during its AJAX call.

You could check for the error/conflict using the browsers console (there is a 'how to' FAQ on this from the FAQ link on the right) or you could deactivate other WP plugins to try and find the culprit. But - at the end of the day to keep a healthy website it is always a good idea to try and eliminate these conflicts. If you do try this then look at tghe reported errors and let s know what they are.

Before trying to deactivate some plugins, i did a final upgrade (from home this time, not from my company's WiFi)... and it worked like a charm.

Don't know what might have happened there, but it's working.

I just had to reapply the theme and check the integration settings, and everything looks back to normal.

Thanks a lot 😉

Curious. Maybe your company connection was locking out the AJAX calls. Glad all is well and you are up and running...
