Support Forum
Hi!
I recently moved a friend's domain to a new server (http://www.heromachine.com) and now no one can login. They can login to WordPress just fine, but not the forums.
We're not using any caching plugins. The forums worked perfectly on his old server.
Help!
Going to need more detail.
The problem here is that there is no such thing as 'login to the forum'. A user logs in to the website and all of that is controlled by WordPress. If you have logged in to WordPress - i.e., the website - then you are logged in - as simple as that.
So can you describe in more detail what the issue is in the light of the above?

Sure.
I can login to WordPress (i.e. get to /wp-admin/, have full access, no problems). When I go to the forum page, it reads, "Please log in to post." So, I repeated the login by clicking the login button at the forum site. It processes the login there, and I still end up with "Please log in to post."
At a guess, it seems like the forum isn't recognizing that I'm logged into the site, despite the rest of WordPress recognizing it.
i don't know if anyone else has any ideas but this sounds like one for the WP forums perhaps.... Simple:Press just uses the standard WordPress function calls to determine whether a user is logged in or not and thrn acts appropriately based upon the answer we get back.
So often these things do come down to caching but if you have none then clearly something else going on. Perhaps deactivating all of your WP plugins to see if the problem persists and then, if not, activating one at a time might show something.
