Okay. I have made the user a SP admin. Let me know.

I have no problems opening the login and registration admin form under components. Seems to be working fine.

The current redirect on registration is set (in the forum admin) as .../wp-login.php?action=login which looks right to me I believe.

But you have to remember that supplying a redirect in the forum admin is just a courtesy.and is really there to allow people to override the normal WP behaviour. As you are not doing that you may want to try removing that redirect and seeing what happens.

I suspect that you have something else installed - quite possibly that security plugin - that is performing some sort of operation on the redirect url and forcing it to fail. This is clearly the case as the url is appearing in the email sent to the user already malformed.

Okay. Thanks a lot for checking this.

"I suspect that you have something else installed – quite possibly that security plugin " ---- Do you mean iThemes Security?

Sorry I have closed your site down now but I recall you have some sort of WordPress security plugin - I do not think this is an iThemes plugin. I was thinking that amongst all the options that allows for there might be something to do with URL 'massaging' of some sort. This is clearly being changed before the email goes out of course which does mean something installed is doing it.

But as I said - I would try removing that redirect first to see what happens.

The problem I'm having is that I cannot get into " login and registration admin". In fact I can't get into any of the sub menus? I can get to the forum area in the dashboard but then I cannot get into any of the submenus. I've tried in another browser (Safari) but the submenus are not opening?

I don't know what to respond to that, The user you created for me had no problem accessing all the admin panels of the forum. Try it yourself... and see if this works for you...

I tried with the account I set up for you and and it works - I can navigate through the form menu in the WP dashboard without any problem.

Why does it work with the test account and not with mine?  But the most pressing problem is why does the email that new users receive redirect to http://www.electricsense.com/not_found?

Which means people can't register....its  4 days now I've been working on this and I'm getting complaints from people saying they can't register.

I've sent you a screenshot of the redirects.....what do I need to do to get this working ASAP?

Why your own account doesn't open pages is not something I can advise on. My best guess would be that something is stopping the AJAX processing from working but why you and not the account you set up for us I really could not say. Only you know what other plugins and options you have installed on your website. But you can see for yourself that it is working as expected on a newly created account. There is absolutely nothing in the forum setup or admin options that would cause this behaviour.

And the same really goes for your email problem. This is NOT an SP issue. I have done my best to make a suggestion (have you actually tried it as if you have you have not told us the result?) and to explain that whatever is causing the redirect url to get corrupted is caused by something else you have installed.

As I have already explained - registration, login, logout and user creation etc., is nothing to do with Simple:Press. SP is just a plugin for WordPress which is in control of all of that. Our redirect is just a courtesy to help people. As suggested  - and here it is again - I would remove the redirect and see what happens. Perhaps even go further and go to the forum admin > options > email setting sand turn OFF the use of the SP new user email replacement. That way you will be using core WordPress only and whatever is effecting things now might, perhaps, behave itself.

Now that I can access the SP area in the dashboard I will try removing the redirect.

But there are 3 redirects:

Login redirect:

Registration redirect:

Login URL in new user email:

Which URL are you suggesting I remove?
