Since I upgraded to the latest version, new members who register on my WordPress site are not automatically added to the "Members" group in Simple:Press like they were in the older version I was using.

Is there are way to make this happen automatically in v5.1?

Thanks,

Donnie

we are on 5.1... 5.1.4 to be exact... but we havent changed anything in that regards... except relocated the admin panel for it...

you set it up on forum - usergroups - map users to usergroups

and it still happens automatically when user is created...

Thanks...I found the settings, and they look like they were already turned on.

If that's the case, why isn't it working? Here's a screenshot:

how are the users created?  do you have a membership or registration plugin?  It may not be following the wp api?  after the user is created, is there an entry in the sfmembers table in your db for the user?

what happens if you create a user in the wp admin panel the add user panel... does it end up in right usergroup?

Wishlist Member is creating the users. I added a new user in WP and it was added to the correct forum. I'll do some more testing on the wishlist side and get back to you.

Thanks! I followed the instructions and verified that Wishlist is creating the user and assigning the correct role.

Simple:Press is still not automatically mapping the user to a group. Any new accounts I create get put into "Members Not Belonging To Any Usergroup". This was not the case before I upgraded to the latest version of SP. Could there be a setting somewhere I'm missing?

so you created new wp roles... and in wishlist member, you mapped a wp role uniquely to each wishlist level? and then on forum - usergroups - map users to usergroups, you mapped each wp role to a sp usergroup?

we have many, many folks using wishlist with simplepress... including us and wishlist uses simple press too on their wishlist insider site... so we know it works ;)

any chance you are using the wishlist tags plugin?

an no other registration or login plugin for wp?
