I have enabled avatar uploading and it is at the top of the list for priorities. However when I go to edit an avatar the upload image option is not there. Any suggestions? Thanks

Do users have permission to upload avatars? also on forum - integration - storage locations, please ensure your storage definitions are valid and writable...

The storage locations are writable.
I went to profiles - avatars - and enabled avatar uploading. Is there something else I need to do?

you didnt answer the first part of the question... do you users have permission to upload avatars? its not a profile setting but a permission... so forum - permissions - manage permissions...
are you doing this as an admin or user?

I did not change the permission. I missed that, thought I just had to enable the option. I will go set them now.
I am doing this as an admin, but honestly this is the first I am using the forum plugin and am learning as I go.

no worries... when you say admin, do you mean wp admin or sp admin? they are not the same thing... sp admins get all permissions so would not need a permissions update...
if you could take a quick screenshot of your forum - profile - avatars admin panel that would help... and also a screenshot of the profile edit panel on front end where you want to upload the avatar...

Maybe I just have no idea what I am doing. Standard access permissions are perfect for what I want. All users are mapped to the members group. There are members there. When I go to forums - add global permission set and select members and standard it says there are no members and it was not set.

Please note that account is a moderator account, not an sp admin... I can tell because its listed in the moderators in the stats area...
so go to forum - permissions - manage permissions... view the permissions for the moderator usergroup... is upload avatar enabled?
if so, lets go to forum - forums - manage groups and forums... and for a forum, click on view forum permissions... do you see Moderators => Moderator Access listed for the forum? if not, is it listed for any forum?
did you send the credentials to both Yellow Swordfish and Mr Papa? will try to take a look later this afternoon...
