Yes - I am on it. I have had one look at the site and am doing some research in the code. Will probably need to revisit but will let you know if and when I find anything.
Thank you Andy.
Your research is very appricated and i really really hope you find the solution to solve the issues at my site.
Best regards
Thomas
I do have a couple of questions. The first is what WP plugins do you have active?
The second is more complicated but is important. Are you familiar with looking at your database tables? What I think I need you to do is to check a couple of data items for me immediately after the unread post count pops up as zero when it should not be zero. Is that going to be possible?

Looking database tables
No i never heard of looking database tables. But tell me how to do it, and i will help you with pleasure.
will let Andy answer as to what he wants you to do, but you can view items in your database using a db tool such as phpmyadmin... normally that tool is provided by your host and can be launched from your server control panel (ie cpanel)...

I did login to cpanel, and yes, phpmyadmin is one of the available tools.
Great. All you are doing is looking at the actual data in the database in tabular format.
See if you can do this for me. Run your forum - any page. You need to have unread posts when you do this so that number needs to be positive. Keep reloading the page until it shows as zero as you say it will quite quickly. Then stop.
Go to phpMyAdmin and when you have selected the database select the sfmembers table (which will be prefixed with your WP table prefix) in browse mode.
Locate the row in that table that is your account. Make sure it is the right row by the user ID and display name.
The column we are interested in is called 'newposts' so you might need to scroll right to find it. Can you select whatever is in that column and paste it into your reply here so I can look at it?
Oh - and tell me what the number of newposts is showing at before it went to zero.

0 unread messages.

It looks llike the string should include more text, but i could not figure out how to extract it.
I am adding two images with time stamp. First showing zero messages. Second 14 messages after a page refresh a few minutes later.
Hmm could not. What file size limit do you have?
