I have 5.7 and tried updating to 5.7.1 tonight and got this error after trying to update
An error occurred while updating Simple:Press: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions. forum/resources/jscript/sp-forum-events.js, forum/resources/jscript/sp-forum-footer.js, forum/resources/jscript/sp-forum-events-dev.js, forum/resources/jscript/sp-forum-footer-dev.js
Anyone know how to fix this or what the issue might be? Haven't had a problem with this before..........
how odd and strange... never seen that one before... and its not a message from our plugin... its actually coming from wordpress core itself...
can you check the permissions on those files in your current plugin? are they different than other js files?
not sure if that is unpacking or copying or what when wp throws that error... as said, first time its come up and we have lots of 5.7.1 updates - in fact, the files listed did not change between 5.7 and 5.7.1... is the downloaded archive still in your uploads directory (in proper year/month dir of course)...
you could always download the version here and update via http://ftp...
I assume you have tried this more than once?
