There may be an issue we have not found yet as we have another user who has also reported such a problem. Can you try something for me? Can you go to the forum admin > Toolbox > Housekeeping and try the rebuild forum indexing tool? Start with the subforums and work up to the parent. It doesn't take that long. Let me know if that fixes it...

I have rebuilt forum indexes from leaf to root on the forum/subforum path, the problem is still there confused

I suspected it would be like that as I already created a test post in the leaf forum ("Arnova 10 G2 General Topics and Firmware") and it did not appear listed in the parent of its mother branch "Arnova G2 general discussions", but is listed on the Root forum "Arnova and Archos support Forum"

Here is the full path, as a reminder:

I am going to open a ticket on this as it needs investigation. I suspect a bug of some sort of course but to date I have been unable to recreate it. Obviously have not spent long enough to recreate the circumstances. Apologies for that but will try and track it down.

As far as I can tell from your site the Group View seems to populate correctly but not the Forum View. is that correct?

Thank you for your support.

I am not sure about the correct terminology, but in the case of my test, in term of showing the last post:

Arnova and Archos support Forum is populated right

Arnova G2 general discussions: is not, problem !

Arnova 10 G2: is populated right

Hopefully you should be able to reproduce the problem creating a subforum on an existing subforum.

I am planning to remove my test and the subforum very soon, so can I restore the previous forum structure, until the problem is eventually fixed, I hope it's no problem.

Cheers.

Yes - please re-arrange as you wish...

I have tried the nested sub-forums with no luck at recreating so far but, as I say, I will spend some more time on it until it is cracked!

In the worse case, I can eventually supply you (part of) my forum database dump like we already did once, but I'd honestly prefer that the problem could be reproduced on your setup.

Thanks again for your help wink

I am bumping this old topic.

While the problem has been partially fixed in a recent release, I believe some extra fixes have been brought in next 5.3 release, for instance this item: http://mantis.simple-press.com.....hp?id=3734

As I currently adding a few subforums in my forum, I am getting more issues because of that nesting problem, is there a simple way for me to install that fix so I don't have to wait for SP 5.3 being released ?

Thank you.

Afraid not. There are so many touches to the code for 5.3 - partly because we need to support WP 3.6 changes but also - because WP 3.6 is so late - because we have packed more into it. But it surely can't be long now before 3.6 drops.

That means it would be a little risk to just get and copy the files from Mantis item 3734 ?
