It is really strange...
I had a look to phpMyAdmin, the table is wp_sfmembers (I suppose...) and everything is fine there...
Just as it is everywhere else, but in the stats at the bottom of the page

I really don't know what to say. This appears - as far as I am aware - to be a one-off. The only way I can replicate is if the single name component is all that was provided when the first pass of the user - and the creation of the sfmembers row - was created.
Have you had any issues since with this?

still missing some answers to questions on post 10... namely how often... and if interested in where to look in database (it would be in sfoptions)... and just a clarification on the option name since we dont have one called that which is why I asked about translation...

It happened only once so far, but I have a doubt: I think I added this new member AFTER installing WishList Member...
The name option is ‘Let member choose display name’. It's a problem of translation.

Steve, now I can tell you more!
I went in phpMyAdmin, sfoptions. The member is there, but only the name is visible.
I typed his surname, refresh the forum page and the whole list of newest members was gone!
I removed the surname and the list is back. The surname is missing...

I believe that is a serialised array and you can't just change the text as it will break the array.
If you want to send me the whole data in that row and tell me what you want cganged then I can do that for you and send it back

yes, didnt want you to change it because as Andy says, its a serialized array... just wanted you to find it and then report it so we could help...
and does sound like wishlist picked name, but oddly we have code to change it in the stats when its changed in wp... bit of kicker is that you are not letting users change, but should do same for admin changed names...
and of course, why I am curious if it was one off or every new user...

You guys are fantastic!
But I want to give you a great piece of news!
In Forum-->Profile Option I changed the function Display Name Format from WP Login to WP Display Name.
Guess what? It worked!
Now the name shows up perfectly!
I will keep an eye and let you know in case something goes wrong.

new piece of info there... as I said, the newest member stats get changed when the display name is changed... once a user is created, they cannot change the login name, so it would never change...
