That worked perfectly FidoSysop. Thanks.

Went to update my simple:press plugin this morning. Worked on ebms but gave the same error as before on doc's place. In the process of ftp transferring from the one site to the other. Weird.. rolleys

I had to manually install the latest update as well. Not a problem though. 🙂

Maybe because I have two blogs running simplepress? Could the sp system see I just updated from a certain IP and deny the 2nd as it’s already done? Maybe next time I will try updating through my vpn client and see if the update completes.

Will need @mr-papa who wrote the interface with the WP updater to confirm but I am pretty sure neither we nor WP performs any IP checking. And there is no need to do so either. I think we are all stumped on this one at the moment especially as you two guys are the only ones we know about for sure who have had the issue...

Normally I would have uploaded the updated plugin and not even mentioned the issue. Because of the new system of paying for plugins (good for you guys BTW) I suspected a conflict. I believe most users would just grab the plugin and install manually without mentioning it. In other words, perhaps many are having the same issue.

I don’t know what would happen if someone ran the database update when the plugin was not updated. Could that crash a board? If so maybe a version check would be useful before prompting to upgrade the database.

No, there is no IP checking...

how would you run a db upgrade if you didnt have the new version????  you will only get prompted for an upgrade when you have a new version...
