I am still wondering if we just have folder/file permission issues here. Is it possible that your server is not letting SP create the folders and files it needs?

Well - do you have any ideas why creating folders and files there would fail?

No, absolutely not. But I have something to add. I tried to install " Simple:Press | Version 5.6.1" on another domain on Multisite subdirectory today and fortunately everything was smooth except theme is broken. URL: http://coupondelhi.com/forums/forum/

You can take a look and if you need I can share wp-admin credentials for both site.

My goal is to install SimplePress on http://coupondelhi.in/forums and update permalinks.

first off, apologies for late to the game here...

second, the proper location for sp-resources in a multisite install is indeed wp-content/uploads...  you will also find an sp-resources for each network install in wp-content/uploads/sites/xx/sp-resources where xx is the network site id...

so moving was the wrong thing...

at this point, I would suggest starting over... I assume you still have no admin?  so remove any sp-resources you find... in wp-content or wp-content/uploads or wp-content/uploads/sites/xx/

and lets check the database... make sure there are no wp_sfxxxx tables... where wp_ would be your wpdb prefix and xxxx would be any simple press tables starting with sf...

once we have a clean slate, lets start again...  if same thing happens, please dont install more than once and then we can check locations and database contents...

database.PNGImage EnlargerI started fresh from zero.

I installed Wordpress Multisite and then installed SimplePress, but got same error as posted I have posted in https://simple-press.com/suppo.....y/#p159195.

After that I removed any sp-resources found in wp-content or wp-content/uploads or wp-content/uploads/sites/xx/.

Dropped database tables with wp_sfxxxx. And performed the installation but once again same error.

One thing I found after performing installation, by default sp-resources folder was created at two location

1. wp-content with following contents
forum-avatar-pool  forum-badges  forum-custom-icons    forum-smileys
forum-avatars      forum-cache   forum-feature-images

2. wp-content/uploads with following contents

forum-language  forum-plugins  forum-themes

There wasn't any sp-resources folder inside wp-content/uploads/sites/xx/.

Mr. Papa I have sent you a PM with credentials if you would like to take a look.

To make it easy I have installed fresh WPMS once again and I have uploaded SimplePress, but have not performed any installation.

I think we probably need to discuss this issue this end before another attempt to instal as it is. Along with Ike, I had absolutely no idea that WPMS needed to create our folders under 'uploads' - this is the first I knew of that - so I still have some learning to do. @mr-papa is our multi-site man in this regard.

So - a note for Steve... As I see it the key thing here is that the install part2 zip is in some way failing. If you look at the install screenshot phase 10 is completely missing which seems to me that there was some sort of error condition that forced it to stop but failed to display itself. Doesn't that sound like a php fatal error perhaps?

In fact - it might be a good idea if possible to take a look at the php error logs covering the last install attempt as they might well provide a clue to the problem. @amark - is there any chance you could take a look and see if you an find anything relevant?
