Oh dear. Can you generate a new password for that account you set up and this time - can I try and make a test post...?

Ah... different issue I believe.

As far as I can see you appear to have added a component to your website that adds a calendar to the editor (is that right?). This is causing the editor to break down.

There is a simple reason for this and usually a simple fix although the plugin authors should really make it. Let me explain.

Originally, the WP editor (tinyMCE) was only available to be used on the admin side of things - to write blog posts, pages). Then, several versions ago, the WP team re-engineered things so that plugins like ours could also use the editor on the front, public side of things. The problem with this is that some plugins that added components to the editor failed to account for this which then causes the editor to break because some of their code is being added but not all of it.

In the first instance can you deactivate this component to se if that resolves the forum issue and then I would contact the plugin authors and explain this to them. They either have to provide front-end support in total or none at all. But the half-way mark just breaks things.

But first - try t and let me know if this is the issue please

Howdy,

Thanks for the response. I'll need to explore the components to discover which one added a calendar to the editor. I'll begin deactivating components in search of the culprit.

Kind regards, Mike C >

Howdy,

I deactivated the Spider Event Calendar plugin, and the forum worked as it should. I was able to see the editor and post topics.

I will contact the Spider folks and share the problem with them.

Kind regards, Mike C

let us know... its likely they did not expect it to be used on front end and only hooked into admin though the wp editor fully supports usage on front end...
