interesting... indicates you missed an update at some point... but unless you want that feature wont hurt anything...

on forum - toolbox - housekeeping, can you try resetting the auths cache... and rebuilding the forum index for the forum in question?

this is just on .info, right?

You know what. I did miss an update on the .info. I made the SP update just to the .com recently. I'm going to make the .info SP update.

FYI: this is feedback I received from the theme developer with respect to some of the comments you made regarding all the js/jq issues:

No problem
We will fix
Delay because holidays.
cleardot.gifAt any rate, I just made the update to the .info SP and performed the forum resets, but we still have the invisible post issues. Moreover, it won't even allow me to initiate a replay anymore. It just returns a 'null' response when I click on the "add reply" button.

So we need to wait for the theme guys to come through before we look any further. Nice to know they are willing.

This is the information that I received from the WP dev. I appear to be able to edit my post and save them successfully, but not I can not add or reply to any topics. I tried logging in and out and same results. Again, it appears that I am unable to initiate a post at all now. When I click on the Add Topic or Reply buttons, they produce no response whatsoever.  Please verify that you are now getting this error and that hopefully that is a simple fix.

Hello.

We see you have latest jquery library on forum page. And everything works fine. Please check now and explain what is wrong

I think we have been here already. Your WP theme (I believe it is the theme) is loading the jQuery library from the google CDN and it should be loaded from the WordPress repository.

As I think has been stated before on this thread - this is usually a pretty simple fix and if you can locate where it is being loaded (most common place would be the theme's functions.php file) then we can help resolve it.

There might be other issues but that one will just get in the way of everything else so needs to be dealt with first.

Are you stating this is still an issue as of today? I want to make sure that we're evaluating the issue as it stands today and not based on previous post conversations.

The issue I just posted is a different scenario from all the post I created in this thread. I never had a problem initiating a post reply or adding a new topic. The problem was that I was unable to save it once I did. Moreover, I was never able to successfully edit an existing post, but now I am able to. So again, the new issue appears to be that I am unable to initiate a new post. I want to be clear that this existing issue has been assessed as the conditions stand today and maybe it could be a simple fix despite what the past assumptions were.

I ran your forum page before I wrote the post.

SP will not run properly with a non-standard version of the jQuery library. This codex article explains what this means and what to look for:

http://codex.simple-press.com/.....-conflict/

This is not limited to SP by the way but will apply to ANY plugin that uses and relies on jQuery and the jQuery UI components and adheres strictly to the WP rules, protocols and API.

As stated, there may be other issues that may possibly be causing a problem but with the jQuery issue in place then that failure stops all other scripts from running correctly so diagnosis becomes impossible until the first issue is fixed.

ok thanks. I have relayed this to the developer and hopefully it will give him some clarity into what he needs to make modifications to.

Well - as I say - they are real easy. Usually a matter of removing a couple of lines of code.
