I don't know if I mentioned this before, but I had the latest RC installed before the most recent update.
As you know, in WP MS, one can only update from the network admin. After updating, I'm presented with a link to Upgrade the Simple:Press database, but that link always takes me to a warning that I don't have sufficient permissions to do that, which isn't true, since I'm a network admin.
Thoughts?
I guess I dont know that... unless wp changed something in wp 3.3 RC period (when it was last tested), you were not limited to upgrades from network admin... but someone else said the same thing last week...
so its on my list to check into...

Hmmm...I don't think WP 3.3 changed anything.
Adding new plugins and installing updates has been something only for a network admin on the network admin dashboard. Even if you were logged in as a network admin but on a site admin dashboard, you could not update anything. It's been that way for as long as I can remember. From my memory, I don't recall seeing the SPF link to network upgrade until recently, but then again, it was only when SPF 5.0 got to beta that I started paying attention, since I was using SVN before that.
I'll also note that I am seeing some other strange stuff on upgrades on MS with SPF: for example, I have a network with ~ 70 sites, only 1 of which has ever had SPF installed. I ran the latest upgrade, and SPF reported that it updated the tables on 4 site ID's. When I have time, I'll check to see if the tables were actually there to update, but I seriously doubt that they were.
I have been updating my network sites in multisite from each network site admin forever... in fact, its how I do it and only use the network update when I want to test that feature...
What I meant was the last time I tested upgrades in the network sites was just as WP went to 3.3 RC... havent since so was curious as if WP might have changed anything...
work has finally relented for me, so will be investigating this more this weekend...

okay, had a chance to play with this today... and its working as expected for me...
super admin can do a network upgrade for all sites... or he can visit each network site dashboard and upgrade each network site individually from that network site admin dashboard (click on the sp upgrade link in side menu)...
or a network site admin (not a super admin) can upgrade their site individually from the admin dashboard (not the main site dashboard)...
so a bit confused and puzzled as to why you might be having issues...
