My forum is down, and in my dashboard, it says "Upgrade Simple:Press". So I click the function for "perform upgrade", and nothing happens. My forum has been down for a while now. What's going on?

Not much to go on. What does your forum is 'down' actually mean?

So you have updated the plug in but not run the upgrade. What exactly is the problem please?

so its likely something hijacking the ajax response..

Do you know what 'headers and footer' is? It suggests it is some sort of plugin... It seems to be erroring as the message says. That may be causing a cascade of errors but until that one is sorted it is hard to tell.

Yes, I checked, it is a plugin we have. Any idea what to do with this?

well, its throwing an error.. and possibly stopping other scripts from executing... but hard to tell... do you know what that plugin does? and why its running in the admin? footer header stuff sounds more like front end stuff...
perhaps you could try disabling the plugin and then running the upgrade... would provide additional data points...
